Another wedding - how it was done

A difficult composition again. It’s impossible to get good photographs of the prettiest side of the church. The joy of painting and being able to edit!

Grid up and sketch… then rub most of it out

Under-painting - dashes and splatters with cerulean blue, then raw sienna, alizarin crimson and burnt sienna

More watercolour washes, plus permanent ink. Colours were adjusted to match the summer date of the wedding

The final painting - with the trademark hidden bride and groom initials and love hearts
